That’s why Kia invested US $45 million in a brand-new wind tunnel that allows engineers to perfect the exterior design of each Kia. The result is more aerodynamic efficiency, which results in better fuel economy, reduced wind noise, and a modern-looking style.
Compact, Zero-Emissions Crossover
For those of you that are intrigued by the idea of owning an electric car, you should know that Kia is aiming to release an electric CUV (crossover utility vehicle) by 2015. As another green alternative, Kia is exploring hydrogen fuel cell technology, which runs on electricity that’s generated by hydrogen- and oxygen producing fuel cells, and offers twice the efficiency of today’s internal combustion engines.
Idle Stop and Go (ISG)
Harnessing a technology that was previously only found on hybrids, Kias will be equipped with ISG in the near future. This feature automatically shuts down the engine when it is idling, which dramatically reduces overall emissions and increases fuel efficiency.
